DraftSight Tutorial-1(Create a new drawing session)

Create a new drawing Click the New icon on the Standard toolbar. The Select Template dialog box is displayed. Drawing templates act as a basis for finished work and set up the required drawing environment. Se lect a Default Drawing Template i.e standard.dwt from the Specify Template dialog box. Click Open. Setting drawing unit system In order to set drawing units click on Format in Main menu and select Unit system from dropdown. Settings dialog box, provides the ability to set Base Angle, Length Type and Precision, Angle Type and Precision, as well as Units scale for the drawing. There are five different units systems are available such as scientific, decimal, engineering, architectural and fractional. The default units system is the Decimal system and can be applied to either English (inches) or metric values (millimeters). Set Drawing Boundary The Drawing Boundary defines the extent of the grid display and restricts the graphics area. The Drawing Boundary can be help

1. STUDY ON COMPUTER AIDED DRAFTING AND SOLID MODELING

Drawing has been an integral part of engineering for many years. It is the link between the engineering design and manufacturing. Information regarding the size, shape, dimensions, tolerances and other manufacturing/construction details are quickly communicated to the production construction personnel in the form of drawings prepared according to prescribed drafting standards. These drafting standards are specified for understanding and interpreting the drawings in the same way by various designers and manufacturing personnel. An engineering drawing may be prepared by means of conventional tools such as drafting board, pencil or ink on the tracing paper or alternatively, with the aid of a computer. The method of preparing the drawings by computers is known as Computer Aided Drafting (CAD) or Computer Aided Design and Drafting (CADD). Concept of computer aided drafting Computer aided drafting is the creation, storage and manipulation of models of objects and their pictures via co

BTECH,MTECH SEMINAR- ANT ALGORITHM

The process planning of the combined punch and laser machine becomes more complex  and however, no study has been found in literature directly on process planning for  combined punch-and-laser machines. This seminar addresses the process-planning  problem for the combined punch and-laser machine by integrating knowledge,  quantitative analysis, and numerical optimization approaches. The ant colony  optimization (ACO) algorithms are employed in searching the optimal tool path.  For full report click here  https://docs.google.com/open?id=0Byguw118v--0a3VsWDBwbnVwX28

Mohammed Shakir: A kinder, gentler robotic camel jockey

Mohammed Shakir, an Indian robotics research engineer, invented a voice command jockey robot system so that whipping can be effectively eliminated from the sport of camel racing.

BTECH MECHANICAL ENGINEERIGNSEMINAR-SOLAR CAR

SOLAR CAR Abstract A   solar car   is a   solar vehicle   used for land transport. Solar cars combine technology typically used in the   aerospace ,   bicycle ,   alternative energy   and   automotive   industries. The main component of a solar car is its solar array, consisting of photovoltaic cells, which collect the energy from the sun and converts it into usable electrical energy. The energy is passed either to the battery for storage, or to the motor to run the car, though a device called power tracker, which convert it into the required voltage. The decision on whether to transfer the power to the motor or battery is made by a small onboard computer called the motor controller. It is responsible for sending the electricity smoothly to the motor when the accelerator is depressed, controlling the torque that goes to the motor such that the car maintains the desired speed. Some cars also use a process called regenerative braking, which allows some of the kinetic energy

B.TECH MECHANICAL ENGINEERING SEMINAR

WHIPLASH PROTECTION SYSTEM ABSTRACT Whiplash Protection System (WHIPS) is designed to help protect occupants in the event of a rear-end collision.  It can be concluded that seats aimed at preventing whiplash injuries in general also lower the risk in real-life crashes. Furthermore it can be concluded that results from existing consumer crash test programs for whiplash correlate with real life injury outcome. WHIPS equipped seat, the entire backrest is designed to help protect the front occupant's neck in a case of a rear impact. WHIPS equipped seats have a piece of metal inside the backrest that absorbs energy in case of rear end collision, reclining the headrest a few centimeters. The metal piece should be replaced later. Used in Volvo vehicles since 1994. The seat, which has new design concept for reduction in whiplash injuries, allows less motion between head and torso in the modified dummy sled tests, and also allows less motion in volunteer sled tests. Moreover there
