Mini Project about Highway wind turbine

Motivation behind the project

Renewable energy shares 10% in total energy supply and 25% in power sector.Use of solar and wind energy leads to energy system saving of AED 7 billion annually by 2030.

Problem statement

Highways appears to be a sufficient source of potential wind energy and there is a problem of utilizing the wind energy continuously and efficiently to meet the power demands of country.
Objectives
To design a wind turbine that uses the wind draft created by vehicles on highway to generate the electricity.
Optimize the turbine performance to generate electricity required for the highway lights, LED displays, Speed radars, Cameras etc.

      Design

This proposed design can capture wind from all directions. If the wind speed approx. 7 m/s the expected power developed will be 28 W. This result expectations will be correlated with final model testing. Magnetic levitation technique is a revolution in maximizing and optimizing the wind turbine efficiency. Due to its simple construction and low maintenance cost this proposed design can be effectively used for meeting the demand of country energy requirement.
